Uh Oh. Any ideas what they might be up to? I wonder if it's related to this: https://www.kpbs.org/news/2019/feb/28/s ... t-stadium/

I attended a SDIC (San Diego Innovation Counsel) meeting last week, where someone from the office of Innovation and Research at SDSU presented an overview of the development plans for SDSU West. (You can see some of the images presented here: http://missionvalley.sdsu.edu/images.html)).

The bottom line is SDSU and the City of San Diego are still actively engaged in negotiations to agree on a "fair and reasonable price" for the stadium property. The worst case scenario (for AX/car clubs) is construction will begin in 2020, and will occur in stages. The first step will to be to build a smaller 35,000 seat capacity stadium, however whereas the KPBS story linked above states the new stadium will sit in the footprint of the SDCCU stadium, the current design places the new stadium in the NW corner of the lot, so construction can begin without impacting the current stadium and SDSU's ability to play games there.

So, who knows- maybe the east lot will stay intact for a while longer?
