Hey, a few of you auto-x'ers (and time trialers) asked me about these tires that I was running this past weekend and a few have also called me following the weekend about the availability of them. At this point I know I can get some with a little lead time but also need to order 4 or 5 sets at a time. So if anyone is interested in these tires please let me know.
Some background for those that are interested:
The tire has a tread depth of 8/32" out of the box. The treadwear rating is 60 thus taking less points than a Hoosier. The tire has a full tread and is legal for street. The Hooiser is legal for street also but this Dunlop tire can be used on the street all the time. The actual compound softness is the same or softer than a hoosier as measured by a local independent shop. I have driven 2000 miles on the street and run through 1 day of performance driving school and one auto-x. The tread depth on the front is 7-8/32nd and the rear is at 7/32nds. The available sizes are in 18" and are 225, 235, 245, 255, 265, and 285. Be aware that these sizes are larger than listed. For instance I was running a 235 and 265 which was equivalent to a 245 and 285. There are more sizing details on my website under the tire category if you want actual section widths and recommended wheel sizes for each tire size. If there are any questions please post, e-mail or call!
