We use the AMB system (aka MyLaps), make sure it is for cars, not karts, bikes or RC (usually red)

Look on eBay for best used options, the company only sells new transponders that need a subscription to be renewed.

The older models without a subscription are available used only and usually run around $4-500 but deals are available

No plans to phase out, we have large investment in the system.

I just got one of these: https://pitstopusa.com/i-23959730-mylap ... ory:709045
As advertised, the charge looks like it lasts around 4 days, but it takes about a day to charge instead of 14 hours.
The model they're selling looks like it's a little newer than the ones PCA-SDR uses.

4 days is what they do when new. Mine takes about a day to charge, but it still holds a charge for 4 days after 10 years of use.

In addition to the 1, 2 and 5 year subscriptions you can also now get a lifetime license for the new TR2 transponders.
https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/produ ... ecID=31949

When I saw this, I called Pegasus up because it doesn't even show up on the MyLaps website. They said it was introduced about 6 months ago and it was primarily for teams that wanted to buy in bulk but individuals can still buy one. The difference is that it does not come with a charging cradle ($69) and Clip ($7) and you cannot access it via an account. So, it works as a transponder only like the old X-260.

Total cost for the lifetime TR2 is $519 + $69 (Charging Cradle) + $7 (Clip) = $595
The 1, 2, 5 year subscription is $169, $239, $419.
