For those that didn't see, the black 924S that was running GSS (and codriven in 944Spec) ended up eating its wiring harness power lines to the fuel injection system on the starting line of the Timed Runs. We did end up getting about 21 laps in between the two of us, best time of 117.91 right before the timed runs.....but alas a DNS in GSS and 944Spec.
Tim Comeau was gracious enough to start testing parts and narrowing down the issue at the track, right next to the starting line. Tim's tenacity and resistance to "getting beat by a 944" was much appreciated, and by going through the "usual suspects" in 944 failures allowed Black Forest to make effective use of their time, and my wallet.
Anyway, I had the car towed to Black Forest on Saturday, and Charlie happened to be there and saved me the worry of putting the car on the street over the weekend. Ian, Jeff, John, and Anthony tore into the car and found dead sensors and corroded and melted wires, and did a great job repairing the harness and making it presentable, but more importantly got it running again!
I would not hesitate to send anyone their way for Porsche service and repair.
