Update/Backdate Rule interpretation for 914/4-914/6

Postby richard on Fri Dec 29, 2006 6:34 pm

It appears that a 914/4 2.0 liter updated to a 914/6 2.0 liter per paragraph V of the rules would not be eligible for the Update/Backdate rule because they are not in the same series as shown in the chart. This means the 914/4 would have to take points for cams, distributor, heads, etc. Is this correct?

It also appears that a 1971 911 updated to an RS clone of '72-'73 would also not be eligible for the Update/Backdate rule. Is this correct?
