... to find yourself in a not-so-good situation:

Ironic: the first thing this guy says is "a little hot into that one ... that's okay..."

Okay, repeat after me: "In SLOW .... out FAST."

Porsche's fault

Postby Greg Phillips on Tue Jan 23, 2007 7:23 am

It was obviously the 911's fault for tempting him to go too fast in his ?Subaru?

That is an old video. Turned in too early, lifted, did not catch it, left track, dug into the ground and rolled. Glad he was not my instructor!

Ugly; doesn't deserve to be in the same context. How a about a horrid display of instructorism (if it was truly an instructor). The grunting is obscene. (does that really make you stick better?)

I remember seeing that video just before my first trip to Willow Springs. Sorta toned down my enthusiasm. In spite of the early turn in and slide they caught a nasty break by hitting a rut creating the rollover.

Too bad he crashed so early. Lime Rocks a great track. A little further on is a bridge you swear you're going to drive into, but the road drops down on to the straight. It takes a couple of laps to get use to. Ran there a lot in the late sixties and early seventies. Ran a AH 3000 in an IMSA Enduro once and repeatedly spun in the esses. Damn tires or was it the rain? :D
