AX

Postby Jad on Thu Jan 25, 2007 7:07 pm

It is too quiet on this forum and I am so ready for some seat time on Saturday :D Also a chance to test out some of the changes for 07  I think I will be nice and run KI, though I could run KP again and hopefully really mess with that class and the BRI  . Instead, I will mess with Martin in KI and let Bill have KP :burnout:

Any chance of a track map?

So far, Willow weather is looking GOOD. Chilly at night, but around mid 60's and sunny during the day. Some class records to start the season????

I'll bite

Postby Jackie C on Thu Jan 25, 2007 8:00 pm

Okay, I'll bite. Yeah, I spiffed up my ride too. 3 whole cans of Krylon Banner Red and it looks like new. I added a roll cage and swapped trannies, but have yet to put on the new spoiler. Too bad Dan sold his ride, since I'm moving to GP, but should be interesting with DJ Gardner at the helm of the white beast. Can't wait for Willow and beyond!

Jackie, with your skill level and your car's weight advantage you would have cleaned my clock in GP! With an ISS SC, you can look forward to besting my times in AX every time.

For good focus, start watching Tom Tweed in his FP/GP "anhililator" 911. He's going to be the one to "reel in" in '07 ... if he goes thru with his plans to drive a 911 in the 944 group.

I'll be visiting Saturday afternoon, but have a parade meeting in the AM, so can't drive this one  .

See you Sat. PM.

It is the silence before the storm

My car won't be fully completed by Saturday, but it will be by the time we go to Willow. I am looking forward to driving again this Saturday. Watching youtube videos and playing PS2 is just not the same :D

From what I have seen, the ones moving to KI have done very similar modifications for 2007 including me.

Bill must have a few tricks up his sleeve too and would enjoy beating us, let make sure this doesn't happen otherwise our money was a waste

I just recalculated my points and now I can run in HP with my street tires or the bottom of HI with something stickier (my engine swap is now much cheaper with the multiplier).

As an unintended consequence, I now no longer need my rollbar for DE/TT unless I run in HI. Essentially, the rule changes lowered the safety requirements (the car is the same as it always has been).

I've now moved from FI to HI to HP without changing a thing.

Looking forward to the first AX of the year!

Pssssst, don't tell him. If Jad shows up with the wing, then maybe we have time during Jad's cornerworking to mount it vertical, so that it acts as a flap and will slow him down.

I will use the lead decklid to autocross, the other stuff is way to lightweight :)

Out of curiosity, if you did get rid of your rollbar, how would you properly anchor your harnesses so that you could still run in DE/TTs?

Just to clarify, the installation of my rollbar was a big enough pain, that it isn't going anywhere (even for street driving).

Before the rollbar, I had a harness bar so the harnesses were horizontal to my shoulders and then they were bolted to the rear seat belt mount points. I was under the impression this would pass tech for DE/TT but my car was in improved so I had to get the rollbar.
