Las Vegas outside track

A place to hang out and discuss all things Porsche.

David, I don t think anyone in this list wants to be mean to you but the wording in your original post is a bit amusing.
You will get help from many people on this board and club but maybe you should start by introducing yourself, your car and your experience with driving your car :)
You can t just say :
"what is a good class to run in ??
what class are you in ??
i would love to get it on..."

AND
"yes i do have a car, a 75' chassis with different motor, better suspension. can you help me out with the point sheets ?? i want to be sure i'm in the right class..."
And expect anyone to take you seriously!
BTW: The event in Vegas that is mentionned in this post is a POC event and not a PCA event.
If you are looking for help on POC events you can go to http://porscheclub.com/ and you can either find the rules at http://porscheclub.com/pdf/2007/2007GCRs.pdf or you can access their forum at http://porscheclub.com/mboard/category-view.asp
If you ask the same question on that forum make sure you are a bit more clear or they will also probably respond to you in the same manner :)
Also you wouldn t be able to join the event that is mentionned in this post unless you had the appropriate license.

Inside jokes aren't that funny on a public forum. Care to enlighten the rest of us?

I was thinking about putting non stock rockers and maybe increasing my displacement, changing my suspension pieces a bit, and maybe taking out another 300 lbs or so. Do you think that will move my class in either club?

No inside joke, at the Vegas POC event , on site race techs found some cars were not quite in compliance. That's what the razzing is all about. :D

Kris say hi for me to Phillipe next door, and tell him to come back soon, great guy. :D

Kris, you're absolutely correct. I started this thread out, I thought, in a pretty straight forward way, offering some information about the Las Vegas outside track. Now, with "Mike" using the expression, "for good reason", I'm forced to provide a complete explanation of what happened rather than
leave it to the rumor mill.

Last year (2006), my first full year of racing with POC, the Bee and I came in 2nd in Class in the Cup Racing Annual Championship and 1st in Class in the Time Trial Annual Championship. The race Class was R2 and the TT Class was VO. My times included 1:25 at WSIR, 1:36 at Laguna, 1:45 at Fontana and 2:02 at BW (with the new extended turn #2.
This year, we show up for the 1st races at Las Vegas and I get called by the new Competition Director to discuss my points sheet. Bottom line, he says I need to be in a higher Class (GT2 for unlimited points cars with normally aspirated engines))or I can't run. He's not picking on me per se as he calls about 20 cars to his trailer and says the same to them. His bone of contention with me is too complicated to go into details here, but the POC GCRs are very complicated and different people can come to different points totals depending on their intepretation of the GCRs. For the last 2 years, my points sheets had been completed not by me, but by two different members of the Competition Committee including a member of the current Committee who also happens to be the Chief Tech person for POC. The new Dir. said he didn't care --he would be the final decisionmaker. Whatever!!!
Bottom line is they bumped me up in Las Vegas and I won both races and the Time Trial in the GT2 Class so all is well that ends well. I also went back thru last years' records and found I not only would have also won the Time Trial Championship in GT2 in 2006, but also I would have won GT2 in the Cup Race Championship as well (rather than the 2nd place I did in R2).
So, these guys (Dave and Jim and Mike)are just razzing me, I think, especially Jim who is also in GT2 and Mike, who won't even come out to the track when the Bee is there!!!!!!!!!!!
But, I can understand; it's "for good reason".
