Dano:
Sorry, cancelling an AX is not an option. It's not up to us, and anyway, the people would kill us if that happened. It' a "POINTS" thing. This is about the DE. Only.

Mike:
Thanks for the input. We don't have any curriculum format yet, and we haven't even proposed the idea to the board. We are looking for interest, which there seems to be. Then ideas, such as the trail brake and heel and toe you mentioned. If everything looks positive, we will try and put a proposal together and seek out a CDI with lots of TT experience. We hope not to burden the current AX/CDI team, who, we know from experience, have plenty to do with 12 AX's and 2 PDS events per year.
And, I like your attitude of "do both." Hopefully it will work.

Thanks to everyone who makes these events happen. I'd do more QDE's if they're offered and prefer more seat time vs. an autocross. I'd do some weekday QDE's. It's easier to steal a weekday away from the office than a Saturday or Sunday from the family.

I would like to see more DE's as well.....especially in the summer monthes where all our available tracks are in the desert (hot!!)

Like Mikey sez....Summer DE's at the Q is the only place to track in the summer.

I'd take a DE any day of the week. 8) I'd leave the schedule alone for 2007 and try for one or two additional DE in 2008. There's still alot of hard core AXers out there that live and die for those ribbons and trophies. However, it appeared we had a better than usual showing of newbie’s this past weekend. :D

I'm not even going to speculate about the outer years as we know it's a matter of time before the Q becomes Condos. :x

DE School

Postby bibbetson on Fri May 18, 2007 3:48 pm

The idea of a DE School / Advanced Driving School is really interesting to me. People come from long and far to tap into our SDR instruction. Many people who attend the regular school do so hoping to gain a little advanced driving as well. If it was promoted as such we would likely get some good attendance. Good advanced driving instruction is hard to find and expensive. The instruction that's available at our events (schools or otherwise) is the best deal around.

I vote for investigating this idea further.
