July 22 AX

A place to hang out and discuss all things Porsche.

Thanks for the complements Jad and Bill. Even though I know part of my success this AX was from luck, I really like seeing my name in the top ten!

Maybe Katina can come up with some betting for Charity on Steve and Dan and the rest of the close classes :D You know the saying, "put your money where your mouth is." Well, on second thought, that is probably a bad idea with how much it costs just to be out there AXing.

Hey Jennifer,
Don't you think I should get some sort of handicap since Dan's car is lighter and has more HP than my car?

Well, I guess I owe a few "thank-you's" to all the Instructors who now seem to be compelled to pursue me? Is that right?

It wasn't that long ago that I was the "grasshopper" and Jad, Ralph, Steve G., John K., Keith V., and many others were trying to keep me from spinning and going off track. Now, I'm in their cross-hairs?? Surely that can't be so. :nono:

Steve: if we give you a handicap for weight what about the Young Machine? It's roughly 200# lighter than my car, based on Corner-Balance data. Maybe we'll give you a 1.5% handicap and Ron T., Don M., Rick K., and the rest of us a 1% handicap?  And ... more HP? We both have an '83 SC ... oh sorry, I forgot: you drive an "SG." I would have thought a 911SG would have much more HP and torque than a lil' ol' 911 SC. 8)
Hey Dan,

Why don't you get a KI car, then you might just get beat by:

Martin,
Bill,
Bob,
Kris,
Tom,
myself

AND also get chicked by

Tami and Jennifer

to finish 9th in class, while possibly making the top ten times of the day

Then you wouldn't be whinning about losing to Steve and Tom

:roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:
Jad: if ever there was an argument for not joining KI, you've just made it. I am not worthy of that calibur of driving, or car set-up ... yet. Give me another 5 years ... or more.

Depending on the next few months, I'm hoping to come out and play in IS. Right now, between work, home duties, and other obligations, I won't be at an SDR event until October 13 in the West lot! :bigcry: Busy, busy, busy!

In the mean time I'm hoping Paul Youngs-Squared can somehow reel Steve G. in a bit.

Steve, I'll have to take the 5th amendment this time.

Dan,
I built my SC to be a totally stock dependable street car. It even has all the smog equipment including catalytic converter, so your free-flowing exhaust and low friction engine tolerances have a few ponies on me.

As for Jennifer... she is apparently smarter than all of us combined...

I think I will be taking her lead now...

Actually I have decided to go with an old standby, the RA-1s that are on the car have done every AX since February, Fontana TT for my dad, Fontana TT and Club race and Pahrump TT for both my dad and I. I think they are about done  I will miss them.

Come on Jad, you of all people know that the one with the oldest tires goes to the back of the line. Keep running them, I'm sure they will last until December. :nono:

Well, you're the mechanical magician... seeing as how I don't know what "low-friction engine tolerances" are, Ill concede some HP advantage?

But what about the your weight advantage? Last I checked, I'm in around 210# + street stock car weight. And you're tipping the scales at... ?? So ... maybe we'll just call it even and say the better driver will win .... which will most likely be you every time. 8)

I'll agree: Jennifer has the right angle on all this.

Steve, welcome back to the slippery slope, in Ki it feels more like a free fall :D

Jad, you don't need new tires you've got a turbo :D

Bill, any business trips to the Taj Mahal scheduled during the next few autocrosses?

As for Kris nice driving, but slow down you are getting way too close!!! Ethan needs his Daddy at home :D

BTW: Is there a way I can install a switch to have my car run on 4 cyl. when Jennifer drives it?

See you all August 4th for more fun. :burnout:

I'll pay for it, but of course Jennifer gets to flip the switch when you drive, too. 8)

It would appear the gods agree, my order was cancelled without bothering to mention it to me :x . No new tires for me, so I may need to bring the 710's

What are your V710s made out of? They should be down to the cord a long time ago

Dan, that part sounds good, but the bad side of the story is Jad will be on V710s

The 710's are definitely past their prime, but the Toyo's are completely gone. I haven't bought tires since February. For normal people, that isn't saying much, but with the amount of racing we have done this year, I am feeling good about the tire budget :D

Don't worry, Martin and Dan, I will be doing something Saturday that should make you very happy.... :surr:
