What does everyone suggest, and which quick release (dedicated track car)? I see a lot of "Gen 2" monikers out there, and don't know what the problems with "Gen 1" were.

Momo Race w/ quick disconnect:


The quick disconnect is very useful if you have a cage, but it also brings it 1-2" closer to your chest, which I appreciate.

4est, I have Sparco quick release with a factory Porsche cup car wheel. Works well for the past three years and a must if you have a rollcage and want to be able to get in and out of the car easily. It also naturally puts the wheel out far enough to a more comfortable position for racing so you will not fatigue, most every one I see their wheel is far to far away from their body and they tire quickly. You can see mine in some video I have poste from inside he car. That driving position works very well and no tiring in the arms or chest.

I have a Momo MOD-20 Deep Dish with the Momo quick connect and the Porsche Hub adapter. The quick connect now has a bit of a rattle and allows slight travel which is not cool. if I had it to do over again, I would get a quick disconnect that was splined, rather than egg-shaped.

I have the same setup as the Kris in the photo with one change. I painted the top center bolt yellow so it is easier to center the wheel. And one quick piece of advice after watching a recent "Pinks" episode, after you put the wheel on, give it a good tug to make sure it is on!

You've seen mine. It's a Momo wheel with a Momo quick release with spline connector. Looks just like Kris's. Works great but do make sure it's connected before you drive. I always give it a pull to make sure. It clicks into place but I double check to be sure and I always straighten the wheel before taking it off. I like Brian's idea about painting a yellow mark on the top spline.
