Fuel Safe, customer service?

Postby MVZ944T on Mon Apr 07, 2008 5:57 pm

This past weekend I stupidly removed the gas filler cap on my car made by Fuel Safe and put it on the wing. I forgot and it fell off and I drove over it breaking the plastic inner piece that locks it in place.

I contacted Fuel Safe today to see if I could purchase that part of the cap to repair it as the metal part of the cap was unharmed. Much to my surprise I was told that I had to buy not only the cap, but the intire filler section as well. For only $300. That is correct, $300!!!

I sent back a second message asking if there was not some way I could just buy the plastic part. No way I was told, it was impossible as it was made in England. So I guess with that logic it would be best not to buy a Jag or Lotus as it you needed brake shoes you might have to buy another frigging car!!

I find it hard to believe that I am the first one to lose or damage one of their gas caps. Why they could not stock or at least make availbe from the manufacturer in England minor repair parts is pretty sorry in my book. Shows they care a whole lot about their customers.
