Howdy all:
A fellow "golden era" 911 owner and I are looking at rehab'ing our air conditioning system in time for next summer (yeah, about a year away). We are thinking of updating to the newer refridgerant, and upgrading the system components to include:
- New condensors (mine to be located in the left-rear fender with fan)
- New compressors
- New evaporators
- New dryers
- New lines and seals as needed
His is a mid 80's 3.2 Carrera and I have an '83 SC. He thought, with the economic downturn being what it is, and being the end of summer, we might want to pool our resources with a couple of other people and do a "group" purchase to try and save some dough. Power in numbers, right?
My friend has a brother in Texas, the very town that Rennair is located in. He thought we might present an offer to
Rennair to purchase multiple units at a discount price. He would pick up the units the next time he visits Texas (coming up in a few months) and bring them home for us.
So, we thought we'd check out there in "hot 911 land" for anyone interested in updating their air-con systems in 1978 to 1989 year-model 911's. Any interest? You guys and gals tired of "somewhat cool air" air-con systems? What are your thoughts? Tech'ie types, any input?
Dan'o

Good one. Now ... being that I've been "folicly challanged" since 1979 .... uh, yeah, I've never heard that one before.
