About the gravel, the residents have recently been throwing gravel on the turns near their houses to try and stop the crotchrocket terror. Don't freak out, it's not as bad as it sounds, but depending on your driving skill, you will want to keep this in mind. I go up there quite often and on more then one occasion i've been at full opp lock b/c I hit some gravel or standing water at the top of the mountain where it's colder. :!:

Martin, has been there way more then i have and i can vouch for him. I have been there with him a bunch and it's a blast.

it looks like not everyone received the time/location info. I got mine from someone who did.

Awesome good time Martin! Is there a "level 5" tour? I'd like to break a sweat next time.

I think that straight uphill strip out of borrego with those surprising deep dips qualifies as level 5 for me since I could swear the car went airborne there
Great run anyway and looking forward for the next.

We missed the traffic, bikes and CHP trap (thanks to Keith for the extra radios). My prime directive was to keep moving before traffic and CHP arrived. We all were low on gas and had felt the thrill of tight turns and negative Gs by the time we reached Julian. We did a shortened version of the tour home (Wynola, Mesa Grande, Cole Grade) and had smooth sailing until about 2/3 down S. Cole Grade when we ran into a CHP, cars and the chopper going home for the day. The CHP was too busy chewing on his stack of tickets and look up to notice a yellow Z06 with p-cars in pursuit. The bottom of the hill was packed in traffic.
