F1 USA

Postby David J Marguglio on Tue Feb 24, 2009 10:34 am

Speed just had a press conference to announce to formation of a US-based F1 team. We NEED to find ways to support this effort if we ever hope for it to stick.

Ken Anderson, Peter Windsor and all at USF1 would like to thank everyone for the amazing response we have received since news first broke about our project on February 4, 2009.

Proving that American technology, American drivers and the American competitive spirit can compete and win on the F1 global stage has been our mission for several years now. And, judging by the overwhelming response we have received from F1 fans both in the US and worldwide, from within the F1 industry and from the US hi-tech industry, we think that many of you agree with us.

Did you see who their first picks as drivers are going to be?
Danica P and S Speed!
Are they getting sponsored by a bailout?

My guess is that Danica and Speed are more marketing announcements to get PR, than real driver choices. Then again strange things happen in F1.

I think USF1 is a great idea, but if Danica and Speed end up being their drivers, it is the best hope yet for Force India to get off the back of the grid
