That was hilarious Tom! I'm just happy we got it running on all 4 the night before the event!! Evan has taken TTOD (out of all the Porsche's) with Orange County twice now with it running out of gas on the top end of 2nd and 3rd. We had to reset the floats, change a needle/seat that was wrong in one carb and move the pusher fuel pump to the front of the car.. the night before.

Southeast lot? Look for us up front again :) The setup on the car from El Toro the previous weekend was completely different from the "wiggle" course this past weekend. Thank god for adjustable anti roll bars and adjustable shocks!!

See you at the next one!.. actually I think it interferes with a Oregon PCA autoX we are towing up for (914 Shootout no.2)

After going on an auto-x drought for a couple months it was fun to drive a fast flowy track :D Great to see such a large turn out! As far as overall results go, all i can say is... Thanks DAD for the brandnew rear v710's :beerchug: Going from our 8 yr old hoosier practice tires the v710's were easily 2-3 maybe 3-4 sec faster per lap!! :D

It was definitely one of the fastest tracks I have seen in the west lot short of a DE! I think that is reflected in the BRI results--only two cars from S or SS class in the top 10, and the first Novice class entry was 21st. Compare that to the 3/07 SE lot results where 8 of the top ten BRI results were S or SS cars, or the 4/11 west lot event where 4 of the top 10 were S or SS class and 3 of the top 10 were Novices and I think that says something about how different this course was! It paid dividends to HP, grip and experience, that's for sure.

BTW, the current BRI chart values shown on the club's BRI page http://www.pcasdr.org/porsche_events/track_events/bench_racers/index.php do not match the index numbers used in the results database for the 2009 events. Has that page not been updated to the current BRI table?

I agree on several points. And the BRI result that are posted aren't the one's I read off after the event. So you're correct on that point, too.

I also think it was a great track for teaching/Instructing moderately experienced students who wanted to push the level a little. This was a track that seemed to beg for pushing the limits.

If you knew your car, and your tire's stick-potential, it paid in dividends. I liked the track, don't get me wrong. It had good rhythm, interesting transitions, and overall flowed pretty well. I missed the decreasing-radius turns and slaloms that often typify AX tracks, and hope these elements return.

I commend the AX Chairs for reaching to new levels. I also want to make one comment about the "hazards." When I spoke to Don about the number of off-line journeys I had to make to avoid the pit-falls, he said: "ya know, Bill and I drove the track earlier in the week, but when we threw the track this morning, all these potholes and hazards appeared from nowhere."

Hint: maybe next time you guys should get the "cold ones" AFTER you check the track design. :beerchug: :banghead: (Just kiddng!)

fun times! Let's do it some more!

I ,for one, loved the track. And I, among many others, or so I heard, liked the omission of a slalom. Following is the list of race tracks that include a Slalom:

 While its not a race an not a race track, I appreciate a design with a track feel and not an parking lot/AX feel.

The track had a lot of transitions left hand sweeper right hand sweeper , off/on camber, downhill / uphill etc. I want to commend the track design an layout guys! Thank you!.
Now, I just want to know what cone I hit on my 107.58 run??? :banghead:

Glad to hear so many of you liked and appreciated the faster, track-feel course design we employed on Saturday. We've wanted to do it all year, but were concerned that many of the drivers would complain about not getting the typical AX kink-and-slalom course. So, we'll do the big-track-feel again this year.

But, for your AX-gimmick-loving drivers, fear not. We've got a doosy planned for you, too!

Just trying to mix it up a bit and introduce a few new ideas. Thanks for the encouragement.

I am still learning and pretty new to all this. I might be slow but I enjoyed the opportunity to go a bit faster. I had fun!

You have a great looking car!! Your Silver with blue wheels really stands out and catches peoples eye!!

Need some more seat time? Come up to the OCR autoX's. Typically it is a 1.5 hour drive from most parts of San Diego.

Great AX guys. I had a chance to stretch the Caymans legs and it felt great. I remember Kim Crosser telling me last year whilst under his instruction to dance the car around the track. I definitely danced!! :D

More of these circuits please AX chairs!!
