Gary - (see my comments above)

We did leave a bigger gap between cars for the times runs.
We should of left more it looks like. Next time we have such distances between corner workers I'll monitor it more.
Also, I'll talk to the corner workers to let me know when they can't get the cones picked up quick enough, call start and we'll make adjustments. Maybe that happenned but we'll monitor it more next time we have such large distances between corners.

Bill, as usual, you guys ran a terrific event. It was a BIG track and a fun one at that. We, the red corner workers, should have said something if the cars were too close.

Another problem Sunday (which I think may have been mentioned) was that for some reason, there were a sh*-load of cones clobbered
during timed runs - much more than usual. It may have been partly due to the course layout, the particular drivers, sunspots, etc.
And I must confess that I hit more than usual (and way more than I should have), including some on my second timed lap - sorry! :surr:

if there was a cone captain or two maybe that would help? someone (corner worker) who has visibility of the track could confirm a-okay (all workers waiting at their stations) to starter after every 3rd start for example. The snowball effect is bigger than any single problem, if that could be addressed.... at one point I was in the trailer and we where yelling (actually I wasn't yelling, I should have run out) to hold the start (didn't work) because the radio was out of the trailer. Yeah, I think the starter could take more of an active roll to confirm a-okay before releasing cars.

in any event, I think some guidelines would be helpful, a knowledgebase of tips and techniques for running an ax and/or other events, ie a checklist and "how to" ....the club could use a wiki! (Why Wiki Works)

This reminds me, we didn't have a radio check during the red corner working shift. Which may have prevented some of the radio issues.

no crying - just whining!

This has been a good discourse to remind us of protocol, as well as to problem solve and improve our system.
