This car simply deserves its own thread. Wow, what a beauty! I ummmm....errrrr.....ahhhh... sense a calling to minister as a televangilist so I can rake in enough cash for it.

Wow, I guess less is always more. No automated top mechanism, no AC (these two plus the seats are probably where the bulk of the 176 lb weight savings comes from), no Stereo, no CUP HOLDER. For $3,200 over the cost of a Boxster S. But it does have red RS door latch pulls, a smoothed-out set of Speedster Humps, a lowered suspension, and 914 "PORSCHE" stripes (O.K., I was going to buy some decals from the guys in Australia until I saw this car...)

It's kind of annoying to note that they increased the Power and Torque by 10HP and 7 ft-lbs (at higher RPMs) probably by intake/exhaust tweaks and revised ECU mappings. I think all Boxster and Cayman owners know deep down that our engines are "de-tuned" to stay out of Carrera territory.

I want to see someone show up at a DE or TT and put his "top" on to conform to the PCA rules (it's basically a scalp bra...). (There is a spy photo of the car at the Nurburgring with a hybrid roll bar extension/roll cage).

Ironically, the aftermarket will probably come up with a hard roof to make it look like a Cayman (a la Zeintop...).

But I have to admit, it will be a cool street car (until it rains) (maybe I should just remove my roof mechanism ;-)).

Ok I do like the look. It probably drives great and coupled to a PDK will shake up Porsche hierarchy a bit at the track. I can certainly live without a stereo (Becker POS) and could live without AC but the car needs a real top for long highway drives or to lock it up for overnight stays at a hotel. A simple lightweight Miata-style manual top would be fine for this car. My vote for the 2011 revision. :)
