The chassis is a 1980 924. Good luck. I'd like the body kit though.

Ya, an LSx 944 is an intriguing project--to have the nice handling balance PLUS gobs of power from a relatively cheap powerplant, but I think I'd want to start with a 951 if i was going to do it. By the time you're done with all the "while you're at it" upgrades, you'd be spending some serious money, I think. Is this the car that ran at Fontana last year? http://www.tonygarcia.org/944V8/ Looks like he's asking $39K for it (and he's probably still losing money at that price if you figured in his labor!) For another $10K you could be into a used GT3 these days...

Is there a shop that widens factory cast wheels? Does anyone know where it is and how much it costs?

Hey Russell, you can also check with Weldcraft Wheels in Plymouth, MI (weldcraftwheels.com). For 1-3" width additions, it's $175/wheel.

Weidman in Oroville is more expensive, last I checked at approximately $375/wheel on Fuchs, because he buys old wheels, cuts them up and uses them for the width expansion. Weldcraft doesn't do that.
