Some gents from the group of motorcyclists Kari and I meet with (MEBC) have been very instumental in getting the bike end of this together. There will be about 22 motorcycles with the 140 or so cars on display.

Here is where tickets may be found: http://lajollamotorcarclassic.com/tickets.php

Cheers,

No we won't be attending. A combonation reasons, budget, Paul Jr. and Kelsey are here from Vienna, the dinner tonight, a funeral tomarrow. Nearly all of the bikes are from private collectios of MEBC members, so i will eventually get to see them. The one I really regret missing is Bert Munrow's Indian. C'est la vie!

Take lots of pictures if you go!

The La Jolla show used to be free. It pissed me off when they put up a fence to make people pay (purportedly a benefit for the LJ Historical Society, but I think they only get any net profit after the promotor makes his nut). It's a public park, so I think you can still walk down the sidewalk and look over the barrier for free, you just can't get close to the cars without paying. Parking is a bitch, though. I'm riding my bike down.

John... Ya! One of the coolest local events we have each year. I go every year. Great selection of cars... Including some Porsches... And a Formula Ford, or 2, if I'm lucky. See ya there. Larry.

It was a great show on Sunday with many cars hitting the top number on the "Coolometer". I would post some photos...but it's a pain to do here.

Here's a few I took from over the fence as I did a "fly-by" of the park in the morning on my bike, John.

The green motorcycle with sidecar in the third photo belongs to our neighbor - Teresa Worsch (widow of Walter Worsch). It took a People's Choice award in Monterey this year and would have won its class in the Concours except one of the lamps on the tail quit working and they couldn't get it lit in time for the judging.

She keeps it in her living room when not on exhibit! :D

Walter previously restored a similar bike and sold it to Jay Leno.

She also has a few classic Mercedes sedans, and Mercedes borrowed one of them for that commercial they have been running over the last six months or so. As thanks for lending the sedan, Mercedes comp'ed her with VIP treatment at Monterey (travel, hotel, fees, etc.).

If you didn't go...you missed a beautiful 910!

And check out the bikes. A 1918 Harley and "The World Fastest Indian". Very Cool!
