The factory warrantee on my 2006 911S will end this June. I'm looking for input re extended warranties, pros & cons, reliable companies, cost etc.

I bought an extended warranty on my gently driven GT3 through Pioneer. They were very fair, I thought. I have not had occasion to use it so can't tell you if it was a smart purchase, but I'd like to think so. There are many companies on the web who sell extended warranty insurance, but it might be good to buy it from the service company who will be working on your car.
