The last two weekends Southern California hosted the Scca (san diego) National Tour and Pro Solo (el toro) Autox events. Last weekend at Qualcomm, Morgan Trotter took 1st in SK2 (18 drivers in class!) Evan Fullerton OCR driving a 2250 Boxster took 2nd place. Great job! This was his first SCCA event and first time in the Boxster!
This weekend at the ProSolo Morgan again took 1st place. OCR member Radomin Delgado in his Cayman S took first place in A stock.
Gary Thomason in his 04 GT3 -Class Super Stock and a tough class, Took First place at both events!
Most exciting and fun to watching was Lori Trotter (Scheussler) taking the win in the ProSolo Bonus Challenge! See dropped 1 second in her last lap to take the final Win. The Bonus Challenge is a single elimination format where each competitor does one lap on each course. In ProSolo, a variant of autocross, two cars run side-by side on mirror-image courses after starting at a "Christmas tree" starting system similar to that used in drag racing. The start, for the Bonus Challenge is actually a staggered start. It's Based on your weekend's best time from each course. The slower car goes first. In Lorri's case she left a few seconds earlier. For the other driver still sitting on the line, it can be quite intimidating seeing the other car taking a big head start.. By the finish, the two cars should very close (quite exciting to watch) The winner then proceeds to the next round.
