The Isle of Man Video (non-Porsche)

Postby Mmagus on Fri Apr 23, 2010 7:47 am

Hi all. Though Steve Plater is on a TT bike and not behind the wheel of a Porsche, this video is SO amazing I had to share it as its one of the best onboard vids I have seen.
The speed is breathtaking (for me at least  ) A few warrnings/things to note.

1. Don't have your speakers too lound to start with or do depending on your desire to hear a bike running around 10k rpms
2. If you are prone to motion sickness you may not want to watch it in full screen, or take some dramamine first.
3. When the direction of the camera seems to point upwards the bike is either doing a wheelie, or completly off the ground and comming to a landing. Which in its self isn't amazing, untill you see the speed he is traveling.
4. Note the TOTAL lack of any protective barriers. Amazing in this age of safty this race is still going strong.

And some of you guys complain that Big Willow/Fontana's wall are "too scary"
I was asked to ride IOM back in the early 80's, did some sighting laps and refused. Why??? Watch the video and you'll know.
It's blazing fast (over 200 mph in sections and right next to stone walls!!), I mean STUPID dangerous. It's a rare event that doesn't see at least one death.
