Won't spoil it for those who don't know the outcome but there was lots of talk about how rough the covettes were playing. Bergmeister drove the wheels off the car but did not have the speed of the Corvettes who had dropped down to GT2. Bergmeister had been put into the wall earlier in the year(or prior year) so lets just say he was determined to win

I was sitting in the Start/Finish grandstand at the end of that race. Geez! At first we were having trouble figuring out what we were seeing, because it was starting to get dark and they had just fired off fireworks when deFerran and Fernandez crossed the finish line. Sparks coming off of the pit wall! You should've seen the people leaning on the catch fence duck/scatter when the Corvette headed across the track...

p.s. The Corvette guys had been pretty unruly most of the afternoon. I think even some of the LMP people were pretty fed up with them...

Yeah, I think Bergmeister was fed up with the Vette, and still had a bad taste in his mouth from the Ferrari finish a couple of seasons back at Sebring. I can understand why Bergmeister did what he did. Who knows, maybe Bergmeister was hoping the Vette would back off when he squeezed him. I bet he didn't intend the outcome as it happened .... or maybe he did.

... And you wonder why I don't do wheel-to-wheel? Hey, I'm just a surfer dude. :burnout:

Although it was entertaining, I think it was very poor sportsmanship from Jan Magnussen. But that's karma, what goes around comes around. The Corvette driver got what he deserved and probably should have been black flagged and suspended for endangerment, and purposely making contact with other competitors. I really admire Jörg Bergmeister for his driving skills and not getting bothered by Magnussen.
