5/23-SUN. JULIAN CLASSIC MOTORING SHOW

Postby rfatuzzo1322 on Sun Mar 14, 2010 5:29 pm

I just found out about this annual event late last week, and decided to post it for those that might be interested in either entering or attending as spectators.

This annual (since 2005) Julian Classic Motoring Show is scheduled for Sunday, May 23, 2010 from 10:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. on the grounds of Menghini Winery which is located 2 miles north of Julian at the intersection of Farmer Road and Wynola Road. There will also be a reception on Saturday, May 22nd at the Winery
.
To get more information you will need to go to: http://www.julianclassicmotoringshow.com
and more specifically download the entry form (pdf file) for the fees and the actual CAR CLASSES, that will be exhibited. The Event seems to feature many Classic and Vintage Touring and Racing Car Classes from 1900-1950 and 1951-1980 and 1990. But there is a Special Interest Category- any Class and a Homegrown (SD) racecars and motorcycles class.

They are also allowing Car Clubs to park together in a free parking area.

Since I have not previously attended this event, I am asking members that have attended or exhibited to comment further, since the Event is more than 2 months away.

In addition, as far as I know, this is not a PCASDR sponsered event.

I have gone to this event a couple of times. It is a great drive up, a very nice setting, and very low key when I last attended a couple of years ago. And there were some rare and unusual cars on display, including a Cobra Daytona coupe. I've got it on my calendar!

Cheers, Leigh

At the first one of these in 2005, PCASDR did a tour that ended at the winery.
It was a blast!

The Ferrari Club and Cavallo Motorsports have a tour leaving from Cavallo Sunday morning and ending at the winery.
Obviously this is not a PCA event, but we will all be invited to attend.
I will post more information once I find out more.

The Julian Tour that is actually being planned by the FOC and Cavallo Motorsports is only now in the earliest possible stages of development and coordination with the PCASDR Tour Committee for possible joint involvement will eventually occur. The Tour is actually being planned for SATURDAY, May 22nd, and NOT SUNDAY the 23rd, since Sunday is the day of the Concours. Stay Tuned!! Rich Fatuzzo :roflmao:
