Looking for a pre-73 donor 911

Postby sean996 on Mon Jul 05, 2010 7:45 am

Hi all,

I'm thinking about restoring my 911s track car. I browsed a bit on Pelican and have seen a couple great donors for $3-4k but I would like to find something local.

Any leads appreciated.

cheers,

Sean

A couple of ideas. I apologize if you've thought of these already :

1. Contact Southern California restoration shops and suppliers, like : Eurowerks, Restoration Design, and Emory Motorsports (not only might they have what you're looking for, they also have a good handle on what is out there).
2. Contact out of the area shops, like : Patrick Motorsports and Auto Atlanta (it may be worth the shipping costs to get a really nice donor).
3. Run ads in Rennlist, Pelican, Pano, etc.
4. Run an ad in the Early 911 Registry (consider going to one of their events and talk to people in person... Lots of great contacts and info in that club). Also go to their site and look in their classifieds.
5. Contact all the local shops and have them keep their eyes/ears open : Black Forest, Dieters, etc.

Hope that helps.
