Monterey Motorsports Reunion 2010

Postby Chaoscreature on Sun Aug 01, 2010 4:34 pm

Who all's going to the Historics this year at Laguna Seca?
I know that I am in, the wife is out. I will be heading up Thursday morning in the 993 and am hoping to get together with a few other Porsches to make the drive more fun. I will be taking the 5 to the 101 and then take the 1 through Big Sur and on into Carmel. I will post more details as I work them out.

I am also wondering if anyone here got tickets for the car corral with the Golden Gate/Monterey Region? Are there corral passes available for Friday? Most clubs offered passes for Fri, Sat and Sunday for $10... If Friday corral passes are available, could someone please let me know how to get them?

Thanks, and I hope to see some of you in Monterey!

I will try and make either the beginning or the end of the Baja Cantina event. That looks like a lot of fun. I have another dinner arrangement that I can't miss out on. A friend of the family is racing his 1926 Bugatti Type 37A and is also bringing his 1921 Rolls Royce for the Concourse! Last year he had to pull out early from the race due to a sheared distributor pin, and then a failed brake pulley (no joke, its cable operated).

I am still planning on heading out Thursday about 5:00AM. If anyone wants to caravan up we can all meet at the Carlsbad Outlets or maybe in Oceanside somewhere? Please post here. If I don't hear anything then I will just head straight out!
I plan on taking the 5 --> 405 --> 1 --> 101 through Santa Barbara, up to Pismo and through the beautiful and twisty Big Sur area. I plan on getting there by 2:00-3:00pm depending on stops.
PM me for a cell phone #

Just got back this moment from Monterey. Saw John and Sean at Carmel. What a great time. I couldn't believe the track 10x's Coronado. Only got to do one day at the track but OH MY. Also did the Pebble Beach Concours. What a kick. Just the free viewing was worth the effort but the inside was unreal.
