I was thinking this same thing Sean.
There used be to that big gathering in Carlsbad before Ben was killed. Sad.
The place I was thinking of is the parking lot in front of the Starbuck's at the intersection on Fairmount/Mission Gorge and Alvarado Canyon Rd. Lots of parking on the weekend because the suurounding stores aren't open yet. It's right next to highway 8. There's a gas station there too. Half mile from the stadium?
You know, as I travel around town I see various spots where I just look around and say, "Yup, this would be a good gathering spot."
In the summer, we gather the 944 types up the hill on Waring Road in front of the Foster's Freeze.

Cruising Grand in Escondido is really good. Before I got into Porsches the wife and I were big into Muscle Cars. We were regulars there, pretty much every week. Not a lot of Porsches though and it's pretty much a pre-73 event. There are a few groups that used to gather on the sides, like a pretty good size PT Cruiser group. No reason why we couldn't take over one of the parking lots off the main street.

That's a good idea. They also do the same thing in El Cajon during the summer.

Just an update to all the comments made for a Cars and Coffee Get-Together involving any PCASDR Members or Porsche Sportscar Enthusiasts or those who just love to be around any exotic Cars, Classic or even American Muscle Cars. The Cars and Coffee in Carlsbad is now actually every Saturday from 7:00a.m. to about 9:30a.m and has been that way since late October. This Get-Together is in the Parking Lot just south of the Carlsbad Outlet Stores and there is a Starbucks and Ruby's Restaurant that is open early.

The summer turn-outs have had on the average 50-80 cars, but since the Event is now every Saturday the turn-out has been about 30-35 cars, since the word is just now getting out that it is "every Saturday." Last week we had about 10 Porsches, 6 Audis, 2 Lambos, several Ferraris, a new Tesla, 3 Lotus's, M-B AMG SL63, 427 Cobras, and at least a dozen fairly new Ford Mustangs, Cobras and Vettes and a wide assortment of other Foreign Cars, several Japanese. Both Cavallo and Symbolic have also been briniging Cars over on a regular basis, and there is talk that a Bugatti Veyron might be there in a couple of weeks.

So if there isn't any major conflicts with PCASDR events, come on out and enjoy this on-going Event, especially if you live in North County. :beerchug:

C&C Irvine looks good for this Saturday and includes this opportunity @ TruSpeed.

From our friends in the LA Region, they are doing a Tech Session/racing discussion at TruSpeed in Costa Mesa this Saturday. It is a "show up and have a good time" event with no car fee, no RSVP.

TruSpeed and Aase Motors have merged their racing efforts so TruSpeed and Dennis Aase are going to be talking about their "Arrive and Drive" racing program along with other tidbits on setting up cars etc.
