These are all really great ideas, and I think you are thinking in the same direction as the rules committe.

Go to the zone 8 rules proposal page

http://www.pca.org/zone8/rules_discussi ... sPage1.htm

and submit your suggestions. If you have one that is slightly different than one already posted submit that one!

This is a great start to making this process work for all of us.

This is all excellent fodder for the 2006 rules. I really like the idea put forth by Greg, Bob and Kim about excluding the R-compound tires from both SS and S classes. It would make for a nice "arrive and drive" class for those who like a firmer suspension on the street but don't want to incur the expense and hassle of an extra set of wheels and tires.

I promise to post suggestions in the early stages of rules-making next year. I guess I just thought the revised weight penalty system was so unenforcible that it wouldn't have a chance of passing...so shame on me! The good news is that I have enough free points in JP to allow for the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine swap. :D :D

I think this is a good idea, too, and would support adopting a "140 treadwear rating minimum" tire rule for the "S" class as well, and make it 0-7 points for "S" class instead of 0-6, if we're going to stick with the stupid 1-point penalty for cars running 101-200 treadwear tires.
