It appears there are more Qualcomm west lot potholes developing = tight track?.

We and the other car clubs did concrete patches to the potholes 2 and 3 years ago but we didn't do one last year.

Is there a volunteer to organize a pothole concrete patching party with the other car clubs too?
I have the contact info for the other car clubs. Email me or call me.

Organizing with other car clubs is something that would require strong inter-club skills and experience in these matters...like one of our Board members who may have done this in the past...

I know from experience that a car will get some racing marks over time when raced, but when auto-crossing there should not be more than cone marks to remove.

My car was absolutely perfect before I started auto-crossing this year. I got the first damages from a piece of pavement on the east lot event, then last weekend I got a few more marks which can't be polished out as they are dings and scratched to the metal. I't's not the end of the world for me as I think Porsches are meant to be used. However, if this keeps up I may reconsider racing at the stadium.

I think we really need to emphasize the corner-workers to remove the chunks of pavement ASAP, if necessary call in for help or hold the track.

I agree it's time again to patch/repair the parking lot or start looking for an alternative location such as an airport or an industrial parking lot.

See attached pictures from the damages it caused (not cone marks !!!) to my car from the stadium.

Good point. I used to say that when I was AX Chair.

However, the minimum pacing for a slalom (at 3 ft. per step) is 25 paces. The standard pacing for a slalom is 30 to 33 paces. 18 paces? Nope. No AX design manuals I've used have ever indicated nor recommended such tolerances for a slalom. Sorry. That one section had no real rhythm and required too much braking, even in Monica's under-powered "Sponge-Bob" wonder. You might as well have put a stop sign there. The results (slowing the cars) would have been the same. 8)

"A" for effort; "D-" for execution.

Did you guys read the map it clearly states 50' spacing on the salom cones.
The track was the same for everyone.
Every now and then we have to have a lower horsepower track, it's just not fair to have a big open tracks all the time.
The problem I had with the track was the corner workers worked there butts off, and the damage to Martin's car.
I'll try to make the next one better

+1 for Jerry - I drive a "big, fast car" and while I do enjoy the chance to open it up for the fast sweepers, I found the slalom and the hairpins to be quite a challenge to get right - but I was doing them a lot better as the day went on. As far as I am concerened, if I don't have to go down to 1st gear, then it's all part of the game. If you don't want to do some slower, tighter sections, then the DE/TT's at the big tracks are calling. Big Willow next month....

The slalom was tight, but I didn't need 1st gear there. However, I (and Mike Avitt [TTOD] and others) wound up using 1st gear to get out of the far northeast corner. I think a lot of the later cars (taller gears?) wound up way out of the torque curve there. Anything under 3500 RPM and the Boxster starts lugging badly. I couldn't get around that turn without dropping to about 3000 RPM in 2nd (about 40-45 mph). Shifting to 1st got me out of the corner way faster - if I hadn't gotten a little tail-happy there, I would have had a clean 1:12.38 my last run (would have been a 2nd BRI). :(

Jerry, I and the gang will be whipping up a dandy of a track for Oct. Well IF I can talk him out of the "Pumpkin turn" :roflmao:

We both take all of your generous comments to heart and will do our very best to give a safe, fun, exciting, and hopefully non-car-damaging event as we can. With the lot exploding at random and completely unforeseen places that can be a challenge. I know that folks have kicked around looking for other places, but I have not heard any positive results. Someone even mentioned the Port area... ?

Hey Boys & Girls, after seeing the pictures of Martin's porsche, I had an idea of sorts  .
It would be a new sub-class in "AX Results" or a new definition, depending on how you look at it.
I therefore submit the second entry to this exciting new post . . .

. . . and I thought my previous "flat spots" were bad!

In all seriousness, I actually blame this on that Bumpus fellow as I literally had to drive the wheels off my little 924 in an attempt to keep him from securing the class championship. But to no avail.
I hate you Jerry Bumpus!!!
