The warrior's and spouses who participated all seemed to have a great time - the ones I talked to (including my passenger) would have loved to go faster, longer. Based on their reactions, I have a question for the Powers that Be (as well as for that the ones who soon Shall Be): would it be possible to extend this program to a track weekend, based on the current Taste of the Track program? I am sure that if it were possible, it would be very highly appreciated.

Any thoughts, anyone? I would be very willing to help on such a project.

Thanks again to all who made this happen.

Phil

Yes it was a very nice event.
I think we can look at having them to an autocross, maybe the last event with no points.

Wounded Warrior Drivers,

Yesterday’s Wounded Warrior Tour my not have been the most exhilarating event you’ve ever been to, but for most of us, myself included, it was probably the single most important thing accomplished in years. The comments, the body language, but most importantly, the radiant grins on our Wounded Warriors proved we did something very special for these men.

This event would not have happened without the extraordinary efforts of a number of people who stepped up to the plate. I’d like to thank our 3 Flight Leads; Mike Brown, Keith Verlaque, and Joel Bowman for the superb sheep-dog work in keeping 34 cars all pointed in the same direction; to Angela Avitt for the last minute magic in securing resources for the tour; to the ladies with the great eye for the details, Kathy Alnwick, Victoria McMinn; to Frank Passiglia who, on behalf of Patriot General, donated funds that allowed our Wounded Warriors and their drivers to eat free; to Dan Lewis from Pioneer Porsche who volunteered to drive one of Pioneers gorgeous Panameras so a Wounded Warrior and his son could enjoy the tour together, and special thanks to the man who put the tour together, our navigator, tour guide, and pace setter, Ralph Turner. Finally, to our volunteer drivers, thanks to you for making this fun, safe, and a major success story.

You, who gave a piece of your time, energy, and resources, can take great pride in knowing you brought a little bit of excitement, entertainment, and happiness to those who gave so much.

In the words of Rear Admiral Faison, Commander of Naval Hospital Balboa. “This is ‘good medicine’ for these young men. Thank you very much!”

All gave some. Some gave all!

I was really bummed I had to miss this wonderful event. I went last year and it was one of the best days I've ever had with my Porsche. I will make it to all that I can attend.
