If you are a Jag E-type fan, there is now an equivalent retro-modern "recreation" of that iconic car, similar to what the Singer does for the classic 911. It is called the Eagle Lightweight Speedster, completely rebuilt from an original E-type base car by Henry Pearman in the UK, and will set you back £550,000. That's for the Speedster. If you want a roof, you'll have to pony up an extra £45,000.

Makes the Singer 911 look cheap in comparison. For that kind of money, at current exchange rates, you could buy a 2005 Carrera GT and have $500K left over. Who would buy such a car, you might ask? According to the article, satisfied clients include architect Sir Norman Foster, dancer Michael Flatley (who dat?), and Formula One driver and commentator Martin Brundle.
