Thanks to Jack and Robert for another great event.
Great weather for times runs.
Can't wait for May to go backwards...

Let me re-phrase that before Dan Andrews chimes in...
Can't wait to to go back in May so we can drive the track in the CCW direction

Robert,

Thanks for all your hard work this weekend, we do appreciate it
Great bunch of drivers!
You'll have to change my times as I did run and Jeff Doran did not. I imagine the car sharing thing screwed it up, car #418 ran not 1418.
Thanks, Rick

Another great event from our TT Chairs. Thank you Jack and Robert  Despite having to change out a power steering pump (had a spare that I've been carrying around for 2 years. Thanks Sean Steele) and having a roller bolt fall out and fuse itself to the inside of the timing belt cover (Thanks Steve G for helping me with both), I had a great weekend. Thanks to Jad for riding around with me and making a couple of subtle suggestions that allowed me to take another 1.5 seconds off my time. Good weather, although a little windy on Saturday, and a great turnout. I'm looking forward to running the course in the opposite direction in May.

Do the powers that be know why classes CC14, CC15 and CC16 have the same index in the BRI? It seems like CC15 should be at 1.007 and CC16 should be at least 1.014 or higher since there is no ceiling on that class. Seems to be a glitch that should be pretty easy to fix and would get Paul Young and I closer to the top of the BRI

A very fun weekend all around that got even better after I ejected some mismatched street tires and mounted some proper track rubber. A big shout out to Paul Young who drove incredibly well and endured a ride along with me on Sunday to help tighten up a loose spacer behind the steering wheel. The prescription from the good Doctor was effective immediately and I found another 2 seconds on those sporty new tires.

It looks like GAME ON in CC06 between a pair of chick Boxsters and an old faded paint 944 with one maniac driver. This should be fun!

Great Track, great event (thanks to Robert and Jack), fantastic support in the pits, fun, fun, fun!

Huge shout out to the EVAC/EMT team ... who arrived seconds after the "bump." I don't know what we pay for them ... but, MAN! are they worth it!! Major bummer: the fish-eye lense rattled loose on my in-car camera, blurring the vid's. :(

Still feel great ... going to the gym with Monica this morning.

Next time,I'll try timed runs. Gotta sort that "Pearl" out.

I'll probably pass on May, tooo busy, and tooo hot out there.

Thanks to everyone for all your support, and concerns. I'm doin' fine. 8)

BTW: any videos up yet?

I'm not a "power that be," Mark, but I have mentioned several times here that the BRI is a bad joke under the new system (as opposed to the good joke it used to be  ), for the same reason you noticed. I believe that we just copied the GGR PAX numbers for our BRI, and as soon as I saw them in 2010 I wondered how the top 3 classes could have the same index. If there is no difference in speed potential, then why are they even designated as separate classes? If they are equal, they can all run together in the same class. If they aren't, then they should have different indexes. Seems obvious to me that something needs to be revised. I would say that in the press of getting the new rules system up and running, this issue hasn't been seen as a high priority, and thus hasn't been addressed yet. It is, after all, an "unofficial" rating system. All it needs is a dedicated volunteer who has a knack for mathematical/statistical analysis and is oblivious to criticism to grab hold of the little data we have and take control of it. In the past, this was Carl Scragg for the AX BRI and Otto Obrist for the TT BRI, but we had a lot more data to go on when it was first created.

I would definitely say that your 2:03 time in this event in a CC06 car definitely deserves a little more "dolphin polishing" than a 3rd place.

Thanks Robert and Jack for the great event.

Even though a broken shifter prevented me from doing timed runs, I had a great time with the car, hanging out with both Orange and Red groups :)

Mr Tweed is correct, the BRI is an exact copy of the the GGR BRI -- since the new rules are based on the style of system GGR uses.
Right or wrong, we don't really have enough data to calculate anything different at this point. Not that the BRI is essentially any more accurate when we do "calculate" what it should be. :)

When the BRI was originally set up we had years of data to work with. Until recently we had none. Now we have two events. When will we have enough? Who knows. Though I suppose for now one random number is as good as another... unless of course that number is 1.00 as that random number is generating complaints. :D

So I can change it to use Mark's numbers if that is the popular consensus.
