The PCA Zone 8 Car Classification website has also been updated. After reviewing the rules changes (the "Highlights" document is a pretty short read), don't forget to update your car classification, as some of the changes may have altered which modifications you will have to check to get an accurate classification:

Hi. I still don't see "X" cars listed on the "Car Classification" page. Is that still in the works or has it been dropped?

The "SS" and "CC" classification system is only for Porsche models. The purpose of the Zone 8 website is to help people figure out which of these classes their car is in. As X - cars are not part of these classifications, you don't need to use it. You can still register for PCA SDR driving events as an "X-class" entry as before.

Actually we are working on an X car on line classification system so X-cars that run with us will easily know their modification points they have and can easily determine what safety equipment is needle to run out events.

Implementation is a little more difficult than we initially thought it was going to be due to all the variables of x-class cars.
Be patient... when it is ready you will hear about it here first.

There are also no SPEC car classes.
While several are rarely run in SDR (but are in Z8 and others), I think that there are around 7 different Spec classes in total.
944 Spec (SP1), 944 Cup (SP2), 944 Super Cup (SP3), Boxster Spec (BSR), Boxster Spec (BSX), 911 Spec, Cayman Spec.

Out of curiosity, Chuck, what CC Class does your 944 Spec land in when pointed out with the system?

CC05
You can go the classification site and look it up. Ours ends up at 405 points with the 2013 points. In reality it is probably a few less points than that as our on track weight is usually higher than I put it in as.

The SPEC cars have their own set of rules and classing criteria, and it is presumed that cars which participate in these classes are complying with their respective specifications (which the Zone does not administer). The website is for SS and CC classes, which the Zone does administer, and the primary purpose of the Zone 8 website is to help people determine the correct SS or CC class. You are always free to register for an event in a PCA-listed SPEC class (and we pretty much listed every one covered by PCA National Club Race rules in the Zone 8 rules).
