Looking for history of old speedster

Postby tb911 on Thu May 09, 2013 7:19 am

Got this email today:

I'm researching the history of a '58 Speedster that was autocrossed extensively in SoCal, especially San Diego, in the mid to late 1960s and into the 1970s when SCCSCC was most active. The car is described as chassis #83873. It is described as being painted yellow and wearing a set of "pie-pan" aluminum wheels. Could I ask you to spread the word among your SDR members who might have been active autocrossers in that period who might recall the car...and might still have old results sheets? The gentleman may have purchased the car from Wayne Sampson of Orange circa 1967-68 and then added those wheels. I know where the car is today, I need to know more about its past ownership.

Anybody have any info? If so, please let me know.

Thanks
