Interesting "shufflesteer" technique! (or is that "shuffling with the steering") Lucky for him that took place after the apex, when he was already unwinding.

Well the question of "What do I do if my wheel comes off during a race?" has been answered. I'm sure he was incredibly happy that it came off after the car was straight.

Hmm, maybe he doesn't use 5 or 6 point belts and had to hold on to the wheel hehehehehe or he needs to relax behind the wheel and use 3 fingers to shift gears before he rips off the shifter next
This video reminds me when I use to build soapbox race cars, things like is happen. The best was when the brakes fell off the car going down hill at about 40 mph both feet out to the pavement

This happened to me once in my Formula Ford. I hadn't secured the quick release properly. Luckily, it was in pre-grid at an SCCA autox-- no harm, no foul, but it made a lasting impression on me, thinking about what might have happened if I had discovered it a minute or two later while out on the course. Since then, I have developed a habit of tugging on any removeable wheel every time I mount it, to double-check the latching.
