944 Spec. on Saturday?

Postby bryanearll on Wed Feb 09, 2005 8:01 pm

So is the 944 Spec Challenge going to take a pass this Saturday?

Has the trans. been fixed on the car?

BTW - If the car is "going to running", I claim first dibs! 4th to ask last time and shmoozed out of my laps....

A more important question might be "is the rain going to take a pass this Sat.?"

The forecast is not looking good for the morning. It may dry out by the afternoon, but don't forget your rain gear! The Pineapple Express is set up again from the southwest, and there is a huge cloud chain heading directly for us.

Cross your fingers. USA Today's weather forecast says it will be done Friday night, but the Weather Underground says 40% chance of "measurable precipitation" Saturday morning.

Yes, Gents........let's hope we can have our kind of fun.

I'll be there if the weather's good. This time I'll bring the black and white car. NO LSD.
Tranny was replaced on the red one but it requires a truck and trailer to get it to the stadium.
See you there. :D

Speaking of the potential for cancellation... So when is "the call" for a rain out made? That morning or the night before?

We have canceled events the evening before in the past and the sun was out the next day :(

So, I don't trust the weather man (sorry). and will be there light rain or shine  The sun better be out or I will have to claim a SUN TAX refund from the state

Unless the weather forecast is for a 3+ day "monsoon" with our event right in the middle, we will make the decision the morning of the event - at the stadium.

If we declare a rain-out before 9am (or is that 8am?) we can get our money back from the stadium and the event doesn't count. If we rain-out after that, no-shows get 0 points for the event and those who show up get 5 points.

As Martin notes, I think EVERY rain-out call made the day before has been arguably a bad call - it seems that the next day is usually drivable.

The forecasts indicate that the afternoon could be dry, so we could still have practice runs in light rain/drizzle, and then have timed runs in dry conditions. We have often had rain-outs and just used the day for practice runs in the rain, which is interesting and can be a lot of fun. :D
