Uwe Brettel came over from the European Porsche Cup racing series to head Porsche Motorsports North America. He and IMSA have announced a series just for the GT3 Cup cars!
Finally, a REAL Porsche guy making 911 racing happen in the US. Uwe stated that there are over 100 Cup cars in the US currently so there should be no trouble filling the grids. A phone call to IMSA headquarters today revealed that the rules for the series should be out on Monday. An interesting point was that Pro drivers are not allowed.
