FYI.
From Secret Car Club email.

Kyriakos Sougias
4/23/1957 - 7/2/2022

Kyriakos (Charlie) Sougias, 65, of Cardiff by the Sea, California passed away unexpectedly on July 2, 2022 from a cerebral hemorrhage and had an Atreriovenous Malformation (AVM) unbeknownst to him.

Born in Thessaloniki, Greece, to Maria and Nikolaos Sougias. At the age of 10 in 1967, his mother, Charlie, and sister in tow immigrated to Los Angeles, speaking no english. He quickly learned the tricks of the trade and scraped by as best he could. He moved to Leucadia, California in 1969 and there, planted his roots in the Encinitas Community. Charlie graduated from San Dieguito High School in 1975. Undoubtedly by fixing his teachers cars.

His love of cars began at a young age. In 1978 he opened his first automotive repair shop, Charlie’s Foreign Car in downtown Encinitas. Dreams of expanding his business along side his wife, Shelly Sougias became a reality in 1988 where the shop is located today. Charlie retired in 2016, but never far from the community, he could always be seen riding his bike along Highway 101, enjoying a cup of coffee at a local coffee shop, having a beer visiting with his friends, and always picking fruit from his garden. His love for travel, always on a quest to find the best dessert/gelato around. Words he lived by, “life’s uncertain, eat dessert first.” Dad, we hope you’ve finally found it.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Shelly of 43 years; his son Niko Sougias, his daughter Julia Solarez, his sister, and his three grandchildren that he adored even more than ice cream.

RIP Charlie
