Postby sf.in.sd on Mon Jun 17, 2024 4:11 pm

Continental Extreme Contact Force tire is a relatively new 200 treadwear tire made in collaboration between Continental and Hoosier. Available tire sizes and more info at the link...
https://trackdaytire.com/continentalpreorder/

Head to TrackDayTire.com and Enter code: FLANAGANVIP in the sponsorship code box on the Cart page or at Checkout to get the buy 3 get 1 free deal!

Full disclosure... I am buying them anyway, but I can get my next set of tires free if 10 people use the coupon code. You get up to 25% off (smallest tire is free if you have staggered setup) a set of really good track and AX tires.

Thanks,
Shawn

OK, I tried this deal out. Having them ship directly to Discount Tire. Will see how smoothly this whole transaction goes. They are using Ground shipping so it's gonna take a few days to get here. Don't wait til the last second to order from these guys.

Definitely a good deal on those tires.

Anyone have any experience with these on heavier cars? What do they compare to...RE71r? A052? I'd like to have some comparison before pulling the trigger or sticking w/ my known Nankang CRS...

Some friends ran them on an M4 GT4 (~3200lbs) @ Daytona in WRL and had significant problems with the carcass delaminating and failing dramatically. They are not as sticky as an RE71 or A052, but stickier than an RS4.

Grip sounds about what I have heard. One of the fastest 200 tw, not necessarily fastest. I am hoping for long lasting and consistent all the way down since Manufacturer says: Tread Compound Designed for Endurance Racing. Surprised to hear about failing at Daytona Alex. Your friends should contact Continental.

The good price is all I know of from personal experience so far. I have two different width size sets ordered for the 924S, and will likely get a set for my 1M as well.

Stay tuned...

They were doing development work with Continental. I'd be curious to try the tire again as it should have evolved. The 300TW version is excellent

The tires arrived 6 days after I ordered them. Not too bad. They are being mounted on wheels for my M3 by Discount Tire this afternoon. Next opportunity to try them will be at an Autocross. Then WSIR in a couple months.

I have a set of ONE heat cycle shaved ECF's in an unusual size of 225/45-15 that I would sell at a very attractive price if anyone is interested.

They do seem to last very well! We put 12 HC on another set and they were within a second of new on a Spec 944.
They are not as fast as a Toyo RR (TW=40) but are not meant to be. I was doing tire testing for NASA and Continental/Hoosier. I cannot comment on the other tires tested as they are not yet on the market, but none that were meant for the 200 TW market were quicker.

As we run the Toyo RR as a Spec Tire, I cannot use these in any competition.

Just ordered some for my 996tt - we'll see how they do (since my normal Nankang CRS/AR1s are impossible to get right now...).

Price was right :)
