Does anyone have a local source/dealer for Hankook tires? Thanks

Come on Glenn. You're already in MI, step up to Hoosiers or slicks.

I think Discount Tire sells them.

And they do make slicks, Dave!

Glenn:

In downtown SDyou can go to Import Tire: 13 and F streets. They sold Hankooks to us for my SC and Monica's 912. We run the RS-2, and love 'em.

Don and Joe: 619-291-9666.

I've seen a few PCASDR folks down there, and I've been getting all my tires (truck/suv/Porsches) for years. Great guys. I know It's a bit of a haul for you, but it still may be worth it.

Good Luck!

Glen, You could call AIM Tires in NorCal
707-938-9193
Good prices and reasonable shipping. They have a few Z211 DOT50 left in 285/30x18 & 225/40x18
I checked with Discount Tires, but are higher priced and take a few days. my.02

A 2002 996, really? Where did you see that? Oh, there it is, yeah.

It was getting difficult having to take the steering wheel off of the 993 to go into Von's. The soccer moms in their SUV's give you really weird looks. So now I have a daily driver that will stay just that, a daily driver.

We have used these guys for our trucks tires for years too. They are fair and really great guys. But, I just talked to them yesterday and they sold their property to the city. They will be there for a while longer ( they said 2 - 4 months). Not sure where they will be moving to.

It is nice to see a 993 guy admit the 996 is a pretty nice car. I have been very happy with mine. Just took it to Palm Springs, had lots of fun including a couple of 100 mph passes and still got 27+mpg with some a/c and some targa top open.

You do need to bring it to an AX to really test and get to know the performance of the car.

I took the 996 to Phoenix over Christmas. It was a nice trip, comfortable ride and good gas mileage. here I go again speaking kindly of a 996. I guess we all soften a little bit with age.

I promised her (no name yet) that I wouldn't do any AX or track events with her. I do know what you mean though. I have been down a couple of twisty roads with her. I think I'll have Jae Lee dial out that inherent under steer. It would be interesting running in NSS again even if just once.

Actually, you would be playing with me in OS/S. 996 2002+ and 997 non-S. Come on, you know you wanna do it....

I didn't know that the director's job paid so well. But did you have to go to the dark side?

Tom,

I haven't finished last at an AX in a while. I'll think about it but don't count on it. I don't even drive her in the rain.

Glenn,

Sorry about the darkside thing. Darth is my dad and all of that stuff.
It was an offer I couldn't refuse.

But I like driving it. It's nice having a street car again.

Jad, Jad, Jad....

I don't see you gutting your Targa. My 996 is a daily driver STREET machine. I like to ride in comfort once and a while. 8) This car will stay a STREET machine.
