Why not get the furs the way our next VP does? Then you and your hunting companions can make your own high-fashion fur apparel.

Does it really matter? Not to me as having a beer after the AX violates my own PERSONAL set of rules, but I do not care what other's decision may be. If you hold the beer back-the same people will still put stuff in the trailer while others do not. If you roll the beer out first, the same people will still put stuff in the trailer while others do not.
.

And if a bunch of people who want to get to the beer put everything away you will spend all your time saying where is the (insert here)? I know it was here last time :surr:

...and to ask the absurd rhetorical question...

So why do we not allow a little drinking during AX? Why the draconian rule about not drinking until after timed laps are done?

Why is unacceptable to have a tad bit o' booze in you while you careen around a big, empty parking lot with nary a car, pedestrian, bicyclist, intersection, or cell-phone-driver within hundreds of feet? But, when we leave the parking lot to negotiate the maze of traffic full of inattentive people and barely competent vehicle operators in close proximity, the rules are different?

As long as I am being responsible in my drinking before timed runs, I should be allowed to do it. :roflmao:

Be prepared to pick up your own cones, since there won't be any corner workers the next time you AX. They will all be hiding behind the trolley pillars!

Stupid question:

Maybe someone who knows how the (lame donkey loss of a civil liberty) alcohol ban was written can answer this. My understanding is that this law bans alcohol at all city parks. Does the stadium fall in this category?

I can't speak to the alcohol ban in general, but I do know the history on the glass container issue.

There is a Qualcomm stadium specific ordinance that prohibits all glass containers. This has little to do with alcohol, it was passed by the San Diego City Council in response to a massive glass breakage event that occurred after a Chargers/Raiders game a few years ago. The San Diego police arrived the next day for some motorcycle training and were unable to hold their training event due to the large amount of broken glass scattered all over the parking lot. The ordinance was brought up and passed shortly after that, and went into effect roughly a year later.

We are in violation of this ordinance at every one of our events, and technically could be cited (individually) each and every time we possess a glass container in the parking lot, whether said container has alcohol, water, pickles, motor oil or is empty.

If all of our alcohol was in plastic, aluminum, or other non-glass containers we would be fine (relative to the glass ban, at least).

I have a hard time believing that it does because then there would be no more tailgating. I'm pretty sure the Chargers would NEVER allow that and many more people wouldn't have voted yes on it. But then again, people are dumb and want to ruin everyone elses fun.

What fun is football with the booze?

And remember, there's no such thing as stupid questions.......just stupid people. :beerchug:

The stadium is not considered a park and as such, is not affected by the ban. Glass containers are illegal at the stadium. My guess is that we have not been observed breaking the law and we have not had any incidents of broken glass during or after our events and that's why this has not been an issue.

Cheers!

If anything, I've always seen autocross people pick up glass when at the stadium because it's not exactly condusive to soft tires.

How is this thread still alive?

The chip was nice.
The board meeting host (Joe) got a call from a neighbor concerned when they saw the chip car blocking the driveway.
According to the neighbor (SDPD) the only time a chip goes to a home is when there has been a fatality.
Nice home for a meeting, great place for a party! :beerchug:
