Unofficial Streets TT Timed Runs Times April 23, 2006

A place to hang out and discuss all things Porsche.

Postby Dan Chambers on Mon Apr 24, 2006 1:23 pm

Hats off to Robert and Jack. Once again, a really fun weekend.

Those Autocrossers with enough AX/DE experience really MUST try Streets of Willow. This would have been the perfect weekend for those of you ready to take one step further.

Big Kudo's to everyone who helped out others. There were so many people helping others with tools, equipment, instruction, ideas on "the line," etc, etc. It's really a great place for camaraderie.

And a big thanks to Jad for only beating me in my own car by 0.19 seconds  .

Sorry I'll miss Buttonwillow in June (I'll be surfing in Australia 8) ), but I'm trying to save my pennies now for Spring Mountain :D . Let's hope I'm not travelling in Spet. this year.

Thanks again. Great weekend!

Come to think of it, Dan A., you were really, really quiet at dinner Saturday night. Of course sitting with me, Jad, Jim Duncan, Chuck Sharp, all at the same table...... would probably be like a sheep sitting at a table full of wolves  :?. Were you water-logged by the time the check came around?

In all fairness, Dan: you drove well and I really enjoyed watching your line .... especially every time you passed me   .

As for Bill-Eye: great job! Way to keep the water-pumpers going strong. And let's not forget Tami-Eye either. She ran her best laps in Timed Runs! WoooHooo!

Great times .......

I was quiet because I was freezing to death out on the sub-zero patio... It was still fun, even though I was sitting with waterpumpers...

Thank you Jack and Robert for running another fun time trial event and posting the results so quickly!

Steve Grosekemper - Thanks for fixing my car. It runs the best it ever has !!!!

Not sure what was in the cereal on Sunday morning, but I managed to break my torque wrench and then borrowed a part of Pete's wrench and broke that one in half as-well  Only Johnny's heavy duty wrench survived. Don't worry Pete, I've got an inside connection on tools and I will get you another one

Jad, it $^ck$ that your car started smoking on the sunday morning session, I saw your 1:28's. But, I am happy that I won and got into the top 10 even if you weren't there. Sorry, but I have to celebrate it while I can. :-D But, there will be another chance to pump water at Buttonwillow for you guys.

Bill, I'll try to be ahead of you by more than one bumper next time.

Johnny, do you brake during the chicane?  Dan and I are not braking

We have an excellent club and you guys are all great. I had a lot of fun. This was one of my favorites along with Buttonwillow.

Wow, those times are generally faster than previous events there. Well done everyone! Was the weather and conditions good or is the club just getting that much better now?

We may be getting faster  , but I think the main reason is a change in the track configuration. There is new pavement just before the esses (clockwise) that cuts off a tight section where we used to run and you enter the esses much faster than before. It does get rid of those big bumps there but is a shorter and faster configuration.

Weather conditions:

Sat.: Cloudy to partly sunny, wind from the W-SW at 15 to 30 knots (aka: BLOWING!!! ) Temp: 62. (Real Feel: Sub-Zero :surr: )

Sun.: Cloudy/drizzles AM, wind from SW-W at 18 to 35 knots :banghead: , PM- partly cloudy, increased winds from W-SW, temp: 59 (Real-Feel = "Antartic would seem balmy!" )

So I think it boils down to slightly different track configuration, and a lot of people pushing hard in order to keep warm. :roflmao:

Ok, thats just great...I am thinking, man that new suspension it doing wonders  , over 3 seconds faster than last year. So throw me a bone here, where was this exactly? Before the big essess? and how much time would you think it saved? And dont tell me 3 seconds...

Don't worry, the 360 loop at the bottom of the hill added just as much time, so consider it a wash :P
