Don't forget the cams. Mark usually uses a sportier cam on his engine builds. It could be a little more than 300. :x

Ahh yes.. the cams. You can get pretty aggressive on the exhaust side of the cams and not totally screw up the vac signal the brain is looking for.

More HP.

Go more faster..ha ha

Yah, more HP helps, but I'm also sure that Erik could get in my car and go two seconds faster than me with the same setup.

I dont know if my extra hp would have saved you from that spanking at streets.BTW a early car stipped down weighs about 2200 lbs or less.

It may not have been the h.p. difference b'tween Dan's (or Richard Parks or my...) 3.2L and your (or any other 3.6L enetered..) at SoW....but I think the difference in usable torque b'tween a 3.2L and a 3.6L is a factor that needs to be acknowledged.

I have not done a comprehensive search, and I am still looking for another PCA TT or AX class other than AM where the results of the last rules change enable cars with such different base engines (3.6 vs. 3.2) to be competing in the same class.

Don't get me wrong, the rules are the rules...don't like 'em...don't have to play. Simple.

But... it's extremely difficult for for any 3.2L to beat up on a 3.6L in an equally pointed out AM car.

Mark, I KNOW you are a vastly superior driver than I am ...and a heck of a cool guy too :D and Dan is a lot better driver than me as well...but historically I have been able to joust with Dan all day long since we both have 3.2L's...but if you come out in AM with a 3.6L powered car....game over....we might be able to hang with you for a lap while we fade back as we go....but 3.6L power will and does, eventually just overwhelm most any 3.2L...the 3.6L just has more plain 'ol low and mid range grunt, and will just out power a 3.2L, especially in cars of nearly the same weight.

I think as long as the current rules are in effect, there is no complaining, only a realization that the days of AM being an early bodied 911 class with RS flares and 3.2L motors is over. Those cars are now obsolete....

Cough.... cough...... I don't think sportier cams get a free ride on the points list or qualify as replacing the engine with a stock engine of higher horsepower.

Let's just assume Mark has stock cams in that car, otherwise, I point that thing out at 196 points.

I'm sure with that recent rules update that 196 points would still slot nicely into AM  :D

I didn't notice any of you 3.2L guys losing sleep from the guilt of having 300cc more than me.

Tale of the tape..
I weighed my car, 2294 before the cage, no driver. 211hp. 225/265's.. And you have??? Mark, if you say 'a better driver' I'll reach right through this computer and smack you in the head... If you can get my car down to 2200, we need to talk...

Curt....
Feel guilty?? :roflmao: There is a 2.9 in POC that is killing the 3.2's...oh yeah, like the one you have now...

You can complain when the difference is actually noticeable, like, 211hp to 300hp.... and 400cc's
