Steve,

That's mighty big of you to let Hector drive his car.

See you all next weekend.

No fun for the Ibbetson's this time. :( I'm in India for business. Hope everyone has a fun filled, safe weekend. AX'ers, that's the safest track you are going to find. Got out there and have fun! See you at Fontana.

Just had the "Lawn Blower" tech'ed. Turns out the "street" tires I'm running are Mud and Snow Falcons rated at 360!

Maybe I'll stop off at Big Bear for some skiing on the way home! Heck, I don't have to worry about needing chains!

If you want to find my car on the track, just listen for the "Jim Rockford" sounds from the tires. It should be a "squeeling" good time!

Is it possible to get a "handicap time adjustment" for tires over 300? I mean,Jeez! They give points for under 200, why not give handicap for over 300?

Well George, maybe you're right. Tell ya what, we'll just re-direct the turbo air from your intake manifold into the occupant cabin of your 930 to keep you warm during the cold mornings. You didn't need all that power, did you?

I definitely don't need to make any excuses. I suck!  I haven't ridden on a Lawn Blower since I was 9 years old. :? I'm confident I'll drive at the same level as I did then. :?

As for the fun factor ... how do I score that? 8) Just hangin' with good friends and driving a newly aquired 911 with my wife will put me over the top for "Fun factor." 8) How many spouses will be teamed up at Streets, anyway? I guess "Team Billeye" won't make it. What about the others?? :?:

Dan,

Its all about the fun!

You'll be seeing my girlfriend Alisa driving at an Ax real soon. Just getting her comfortable shifting the car and not afraid of the power in a straight line. It should be quite a interesting first day. I'm not sure I will be able to watch...

That should be a real relationship-enriching experience. Are you going to run the video cam while she drives? Don't worry about watching. It will be good for you.

Dan,

REALLY watch the tires, they are not designed for that much heat and stress. Add the age and they are prime candidates for chunking off large bits of rubber. The sliding you will be doing won't help either, but you will be set for the off roading!

See you there.

Thanks, Jad. You're right. Good news (sort of) is that they are "ZR16" rated .... so hopefully not too much damage/chunking, if any. Also .... they're brand new, so the only age factor is the driver, I hope. Regardless, I'll be checking them after each session.

Thanks for the heads-up!

Paul:

:?: No PM from you. :?:

I checked the "speed rating" on these tires. A-rated and V or W speed rated, as well.

Looks like I really need to watch temp, pressure, and overall treatwear behavior for signs of problems. Hope I'm not skunked  .

We have visitors for the weekend so I won't be at streets. But, I'm looking forward to my first trip to Fontana! See you all there.

I got my Boxster sold last weekend. It left for Vancouver on Friday. Yeah, space in the garage.
