In the last practice session had I not tried to beat the burm into submission at the end of the bowl straight with my left rear suspension. (Them burm won as I seem to have bent something) I would have given Jad's "little" :D 944 a run with my 3,400# fire breathing GT2. My second and third runs in the last practice were 1:23:88 and 1:23:79 only using about 1/2 throttle:)

I thought I saw you get into line in the hot pits for the second group of timed runs? What happened next: did you pull out of line or DNF?

Kris,

Just noticed your time. 1/100 off of Jacks pace, very nice and a VERY painful 1/100th of a second. Do you think you left 1/100 out there somewhere or was the lap perfect

Quit improving, we don't need anymore competition. :D

No I never lined up. DNS:) I could have done one slow lap to get the class points but I really wasn't sure of what was bent. Besides I new when I saw Jad taking off the half shaft saturday night to save weight I was in trouble. :D

It goes into GMG Wed to get checked out. I think it may have bent a suspension part. Kind of hard to tweak these Porsche's but I guess about 100mph into the chicane curb will do it.

Still didn't find it, but it is good to know that you can lose to really good drivers just as well as you ALMOST always lose to us :P

In case you didn't notice I beat your class record at SOW by about 1.5 seconds, and according to you, the car that set that record was a cheater 3.6, so you are even further behind. Let me do the math, you are 3/10ths slower than James Sofronas, and I am 2 seconds faster than you, then I am how much better than Sofronas  I like this math!!!!

Jad you are quite good at Anderson math. That's why I rarely need to race anymore. I can normally find some angle or formula that shows me being a little faster than whoever did well at the recent event.:)

What happened to this club? I don't know if up is down or down is up anymore. Dan A gets a TTOD at an autocross and Jad gets a TTOD at a time trial? The only thing more bizarre than that would be if someone actually ran a Google search to check up on my pro ride for this year with GMG. :D :D Please tell me, none of you really checked that did you? :P

And Jad, I really don't appreciate you using the word XXXX with me in a previous post. This also shows how far this club has slipped. Language like that didn't use to be tolerated back when fast drivers used to get TTOD's. :D

Steve:

If it's any consolation, I bent two brand-new wheels through the chicane after the bowl, the first time I ran on them. :banghead: Although not a GT-2, the cost and frustration of bending brand new parts really hurt ... just because I was trying to "lose some acreage" throught the chicane. :nono:

I empathize. 8)

Oh crap.... this guy actually uses GMG for his prep work. I can see it Tuesday when Steve takes his car in, "Hey James, tell me about this Curt guy from San Diego PCA Region that is racing with you this year in World Challenge and is nearly as fast as you". James Sofronas says, "What the XXXX are you talking about?". :D

Ron, where were you this past weekend? We missed you out there. Thought you might try out your new Mirage mods at Streets?

Jad, very impressive run times, especially considering all your troubles on Saturday. Showed some real "racer" dedication out there. And, thanks again for the "oil assist".

Jack, thanks for your help in getting me set up for the event at the deadline. It was my first TT and found it to be a whole new dimension. Much more of a jump up from DEs than I imagined, i.e. great stuff!

Bill B., thanks for showing a first-timer the ropes.

Jackie/Carl, thanks for the instruction. Much appreciated.

Jad: glad to see you are still carrying the torch for the "engine in the wrong place; I love ethylene glycol, it's not a beefed up Audi" crowd. You've proven that when the rubber meets the road, it's the times at the end of the day that count. Nice driving. I think these rear-engine guys are delusional.

As for my turning to the dark side .... it's getting darker for me:
- I ran consistantly slower then when I drove the 944.
- I was cramped and uncomfortable on every lap.
- My car kept over-heating due to no "coolant" in the "radiator." :bigcry:
- I was pointing-by 944Spec cars in every session. :banghead:
- On occassion, I was tempted to "borrow" a spec car just for "a fix."
- I got 3rd BTOD! :roflmao: (Bottom Time of Day)

AND I NEVER HAD SO MUCH FUN "BEING SLOW" IN ALL MY LIFE!!!!!! (Obviously, I've lost all my senses. I am a true airhead!)

Seriously, the car spec'ed out really well. With the proper tires and wheels, and maybe some fine-tuning here and there, this will be the funnest car I've ever driven. Still not as fast as the 944 .... yet.

I think Mike G asked me what kind of differences there were driving a stock SC vs a prepped 944. The answer: TOTALLY different. The SC is a really fun car. I love the responsiveness, handling and the torque. Beautiful! What Ferry intended, no doubt.

Thanks, Jack and Robert, for a great weekend. Monica and I drove our pants off! We're doing another one soon. (Now, where can I get some 15"X7" Fuchs????? )

Alto-Mike: I don't know quite how to describe the tire's performance. Actually, Paul Y. loaned me a set of MX's: 205's and 225's on 16's. Thanks, Paul!!

The effect was ..... Hmmmmm .... the closest thing I can think of is super-G skiing. You're holding on as best you can, sliding as much sideways as going foward at break-neck-on-the-edge-of-control speed, adjusting the line and edge at every little bump to keep balance in check ... the wind's screaming, your heart is racing (better than you, apparently), and you can't stop grinning. I was as much skating/skiing around the apex's as I was driving. It was great. Slow, but great!

I like these little VW's with a different name-plate. They're fun! 8)

Thanks. My personal goal was to beat Jack's KI class record of 1:28.28. It would have been even sweeter to beat Jack himself, but there are always more events (unless he stops inviting me). ;) Seriously, I made small mistakes on both runs, but they were sequential personal bests, so I'm not complaining.

Yes, you do. :P Fair warning: after the next AX, my car will be visiting both Black Forest and Mirage for a little fettling. I am also throughly in love with my Hoosiers, so don't try and talk me back onto RA-1s for timed events.

That was another great weekend!!! Thanks Robert and Jack.

It started out great for me as I had the top time on Saturday until the last session where Steve decided to go faster in his GT2 :) I thought that my rear V710's would be good for another weekend after WSIR, but I was wrong. They didn't last, since I was only 0.4 seconds slower with my indestructible Nitto NT01 practice tires.

Great job Jad, but I will get my revenge next time.

Kris, slow down !!! What are you doing to your car now? You are not making it easy on us, you know we will all have to do the same to our cars. Another expensive year.
