While the course layout was very good, they were a little sparse on cones in some area's and it was hard to see/remember some sections on the latter part of the course. It was a nice change to go up against many different makes of cars. One other nice touch they did is on the reg table they had a file folder with numbers printed (2 on a page) 0 -9 for new people or ones without magnetic numbers. Since I couldn't use #2 I was given 780 and using these was much easier and faster than creating number with tape, and it made it very easy for cornerworkers to read.
Hi Gang!
Just a little more info on El Toro Fields:
-The concrete is slurry sealed with asphalt so tire wear isn't to bad.
-Rental includes at least 2 to 3 miles of runway. We just don't use it all.
-Rental Rate $2,500 per day. Might get something better for two days.
-I have a good working relationship with the AMCI contact (They master lease the area we rent) and they really like the Porsche club since we don't leave a mess.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT:)
OLD SCHOOL - Fewer tires on the gound = less resistance!
NEW SCHOOL - Need all the tires on the ground because the newer cars are so heavy! (Like 315's on 12.5 wide wheels)
Man was that "OLD SCHOOL" Factory Porsche / Gulf sponsored car FAST! Must have also had a "factory driver" at the wheel:)
Let me know if you need any info for a DE.
Have Fun! Steve Eguina
