I actually only got a 1:11.24 in my next to last lap. In my last lap I was carrying more speed in 2 sections when my foot slipped of the brake at the top of the hill. Driver error.

Oh well, it really was a the biggest fish I ever saw.

yada yada yada ......

My foot slipped and I drove straight off course. That wasn't my 1:11 lap.

If my foot hadn't slipped I might have made it into the 1:10's. hence the reference to the biggest fish i ever saw. The one that got away.

I agree with Jad, brakes are an accessory. Gas gas gas....

Funny, funny old man :? Of course if I had FULL gas everything would have been ok, it was the 1/4 gas that got me :bigcry:

AS Steve and a few others were saying i got nipped for TTOD, with my last run of the day being a 1:09.48 to Steves 1:09.25 in the monster Tweed car. i think thats not too bad for a miata with 190 hp at the crank, althouht the brandnew 285 kumho 710's did not hurt. I had a blast, thanks Vasilis for letting me drive the rocket MX-5.

I think I owe Erik for my final time...
Had I have not seen that I was within reach of his 1:09:48 with my second run of 1:09:7? I wouldn't have had the inspiration to put down a really clean lap.
Driving that car was like having two little guys on your shoulder; one saying. "Be smooth... easy... smooth, no cones" and the other screaming at the top of his lungs, "GAS, GAS, FULL GAS"....
That seconds guy looked and sounded kind of familiar as well

Anyway, thanks Eric, you do a great job of keeping us old guys on our toes...

My friend was gracious enough to loan me his '07 Z06 for the day. I asked, "Tires on this thing are expensive, huh?". His reply was "Yes, but have fun."

I posted a best of 1:16.21. I quickly learned how that many hundreds of horsepower, plus power steering, requires a bit more finesse than a 160hp 914. And planning ahead too. I just couldn't bring myself to push harder through the corners (1.04 G).

Its weird to think I could have been in the 1:14s as well in my own car.

Steve you do have a very valid point, i watched two of your runs and it looked like a hand full to get the front and rear grip situation in order on that thing. so when do we get to see that red 914 make an appearance?

Definitely a great event. Alot of good shop talk with friends and I got to drive three cars, the 968, my first gt3 (thanks Curt, a low 110 was out there, 108 with race tires ), and the old Merc - a high 114 with ra1s up front and yoks in the rear-it was a dirty. I also took instructor rides with Kim C. in his boxster, and Ted Drcar in his yellow 997s.
So many car's so little time...

Anyone else wanna share their times without subtracting the standard 2 seconds when i ask you at the track?

Mine was a measly 1:17:46 in Dave Gardner's martini car. I couldn't reach the clutch with a fully extended leg, and somehow managed to slightly sprain my left wrist...ahhh excuses excuses. I think Lori Schuesshler got down to 1:17 something as well.......

From what I can remember, TAMI IBBETSON was FLYING. Anyone know what her best was?
