I too was looking at replacing my tires with a set for AX use only. My PS2s didn't hold up well at all, and before the AX event they looked new. After the event they had chunked and looked very worn. This concerned me because i've noticed they seem to carry on wearing down rapidly. I find bits of rubber stuck to the body work of my car. Anyhow, I got a nail in the rear last week, and went down to discount tire for a repair on a recommendation. They told me, it was repairable but at this point I was already convinced I was not going to use repaired tires on any sort of performance event so I asked for a quote for the Neovas. $1433 Gerry quoted me. I decided against it, for mainly cost reasons and the fact they don't carry that tire in the correct rear fitment. Sticking a 265/35/18 on the rear reduces the rolling radius against stock more than I would want.
Anyhow, I ended up buying 2 rear PS2s as the repair process for the tire didn't work out for Discount tire as planned (long story). I decided I would not use these tires again on an AX event. I had a lucky escape with a new set of rears for a good price so I don't want to waste them again. They are very expensive, and seem to be too delicate, but they are a nice tire for road use.
I had Falken Azenis RT-615 fitted yesterday, correct fitment for the fronts, but 255/40/18 for the rears. Wether they turn out to be good performing or not is besides the point at the moment for me. I'm new to AX, so all I want to do is learn how to drive and not worry about wasting or damaging tires, so cheapest option works out best for me. Maybe Neovas will be the tire of choice for me in the future.. Once I figure out how to drive first and can make good use of them that is.
