Kary you make that look way too easy. You must not be pushing hard enough  ...

I think those are great videos to watch and get a layout of the track. For those who have never driven Laguna Kary pretty much nails the turn-in points. Too bad the sound isn't there so you could hear him getting back on the throttle....

Thanks Kary for the refresher....

Here's some video with sound and a few comments.
The video is from 2006. The Bee is faster now, but the track is the same!
All will become clear during our track walk.
Please make sure to bring $10 for the track walk (for Juvenile Diabetes)
Look forward to seeing all of you

I'd like to mention that the Laguna Time Trial run group assignments have been made (based on your car and any other input that you provided in your application) BUT, there will be flexibility in moving drivers from one group to another if they chose to change (to a faster or slower group).
There are 26 drivers assigned to each group now, and we can accommodate up to 35, so if you want to change run groups after you've been on the track for a while, it is likely that you will be able to. Just keep that in mind when you get your registration package at the track. Thanks.

And bring extra mufflers, supertaps, soup cans with holes in them (don't laugh, that was my last attempt at not getting black flagged). The County runs the DB meter and they don't particullary care if it is accurate, or fair.

Thanks John! That lap for V2 was a coupe tenths from the track record. I missed going to event last year but hope this year I can get the track record for V2.

Everyone have fun. I can't make it this year but next year for sure.

On the noise front, Kris U tried the old industrial steel wool trick at the recent DE and it seemed to work. Noise levels dropped up to approx 5dB. Since its cheap and easy to wire the steel wool into the tailpipe, I'd bring some along as insurance.

It is a bit different at LS than the stadium. Where the sound is check it is basically in a canal with a high wall mountain on the left and a deep cut wall on the right. Sound just bounces because it is about three track widths wide. Not very helpful at absorbing sound. I would bring more than steel wool if you think you are on the limit. It is along trip to sit it out because of noise.

Our stadium noise experiments were useful only in relative terms, not absolute. What I found useful was that my car w/ mufflers gave the same reading as a stock Boxster. Second, the addition of steel wool made it even quieter. So I am fairly confident that I will pass sound check at LS.

We attempted to do 50' perpendicular to the track, but like Kary says there really is no way to replicate the LS sound shed at the Q.

I registered 88 to 90 @ 50' during the Q DE. I'm bring pieces parts to make it quieter if I have to. I'm planning on having to add parts to the exhaust.

What size mufflers are the 911 guys running?
Can you get away with 2 out 2.5 diameter mufflers or do have to go all the way down to 2 out with 2 inch diameter mufflers?
fwiw 2 out 2" is my street set up.
Anyone going to the Monterey Historics this weekend?

Greg, you were one of the loudest cars at the DE, according to the sound meter. Are you bringing the same car with the same exhaust?
